HIGHLAND CREEK / PORT UNION (Ontario) : Small adjoining communities situated within the south/ eastern confines of a very urbanized and sometimes troubled city, known as Scarborough
What is unique about these districts , setting them apart from others surrounding, is the illusion of a vast wilderness . An abrupt contrast to this city's nasty, neighborhood reputation. Quite commonly discussed
All across the steep, narrow valleys and bluffs which lead to the Great Lake Ontario, contain private resident housing with overpasses echoing a constant drone of busy traffic. Surrounded by all of this, is a small , but thick and compact forested area thriving with life of every considerable notion
Inside the beautiful little park, people are welcome and frequent visitors. But they do not dominate this tiny oasis filled with deer, coyote and many other forms of wildlife not commonly seen in this area
Below is a photographic record and simple story of one person's visit on a cold winter day. Astonished by seemingly never ending trails . Becoming lost in acres of woodland
